1. About House Passports

House Passports is a home and property maintenance platform designed to help homeowners, property owners, landlords, investors, and other users organize property records, maintenance schedules, service history, home systems, appliances, equipment, photos, receipts, warranties, manuals, and related property information.

House Passports is intended for home and property management purposes. House Passports is not a personal photo storage app, identity document storage system, medical record storage system, financial record storage system, or general private document storage system.

2. Acceptance of These Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using House Passports, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

3. Using the Service

You agree to use House Passports responsibly, lawfully, and only for its intended property-related purposes.

You agree not to use the Service for unlawful, harmful, misleading, abusive, or fraudulent purposes; attempt to access another user’s account or data; interfere with the security, availability, or operation of the Service; upload content that violates another person’s privacy or rights; upload illegal, harmful, offensive, or unauthorized material; misuse contractor, vendor, tenant, property, or service information; attempt to copy, reverse engineer, disrupt, scrape, or exploit the platform in an unauthorized way; or use the Service to store personal, sensitive, confidential, or private information that is not needed for home or property maintenance.

4. Accounts

You may need to create an account to use certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login information and password. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate account information and keep it updated. You agree to notify House Passports if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create security risk, or misuse the Service.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of the information, photos, documents, maintenance records, property details, service history, and other content you upload to House Passports.

By using the Service, you give House Passports permission to store, process, display, transmit, back up, and use your content as needed to provide, operate, maintain, secure, improve, and support the Service.

House Passports does not claim ownership of your uploaded property records or user content. You are responsible for the content you upload and represent that you have the right to upload and store the content you add to the Service.

6. User Content, Photos, and Personal Information

House Passports is designed to store home, property, appliance, equipment, maintenance, repair, and service-related information. The Service is not intended to be used as a personal photo storage app, family photo album, identity document storage system, medical record storage system, financial record storage system, or general private document storage system.

You agree not to upload or store content that is not needed for home or property maintenance purposes.

You should not upload photos of people, faces, children, guests, tenants, contractors, or other individuals; government IDs, passports, driver’s licenses, credit cards, bank account information, medical records, passwords, security codes, alarm codes, lock codes, access codes, Wi-Fi passwords, personal mail, private correspondence, or other personal, confidential, sensitive, or private information that is not necessary for property maintenance.

You are responsible for the content you upload to House Passports. If you choose to upload personal, private, confidential, or sensitive information that is not needed for the Service, you do so at your own risk. House Passports may remove, restrict, or delete content that appears to violate these Terms, creates security or privacy risk, or is inappropriate for the purpose of the Service.

7. Property Data and Third-Party Sharing

House Passports does not sell personal information. House Passports is built for property records, not personal-data storage.

House Passports may use or share property-related information with selected third parties when reasonably needed to provide, improve, support, secure, or expand the Service, or when users choose to use features that involve sharing, exporting, transferring, reporting, or granting access to property information.

After a user chooses to share information with a third party, that third party may use the information according to its own terms, privacy policy, and business practices. House Passports is not responsible for how a third party uses information after the user authorizes or initiates that sharing.

8. Property and Maintenance Information

House Passports may provide maintenance reminders, general home-care information, estimated life expectancy ranges, suggested service schedules, and related property guidance. This information is for general guidance only.

Maintenance reminders, schedules, alerts, reports, checklists, and recommendations are provided for informational and organizational purposes only. Users remain solely responsible for inspecting, maintaining, servicing, repairing, monitoring, and protecting their property.

Maintenance schedules and recommendations may be based on general industry guidance, manufacturer information, user-provided information, estimated life expectancy data, AI-generated recommendations, or other available information. Actual maintenance needs may vary depending on property condition, age, installation quality, usage, weather, environment, and other factors.

Users should not rely solely on House Passports reminders, notifications, schedules, reports, alerts, or recommendations when making property maintenance decisions.

House Passports does not replace manufacturer instructions, professional inspection, licensed contractor advice, building code requirements, safety regulations, local laws, or insurance requirements.

9. Automated Features, Reports, and Recommendations

House Passports may use property-related information to generate maintenance reminders, life expectancy estimates, alerts, reports, checklists, or recommendations.

House Passports may use artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, optical character recognition (OCR), and automated data processing technologies to identify appliances, extract information from uploaded photos and documents, organize property records, generate maintenance recommendations, estimate maintenance needs, and improve the Service.

AI-generated information, recommendations, classifications, estimates, and extracted data are provided for informational purposes only and may not always be accurate, complete, or current.

Users remain responsible for reviewing recommendations, following manufacturer instructions, using licensed professionals when needed, and making safe property maintenance decisions.

10. No Professional Advice

House Passports may provide general home maintenance, property organization, and recordkeeping information. The Service does not provide legal, financial, tax, insurance, engineering, architectural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, or other licensed professional advice. You should consult qualified professionals when needed.

11. Contractors, Vendors, and Third Parties

House Passports may allow users to store contractor information, vendor details, service records, receipts, invoices, warranties, or related notes. House Passports may also include links, integrations, product references, contractor information, or third-party services.

We are not responsible for third-party websites, products, contractors, vendors, service providers, pricing, availability, quality, safety, performance, warranties, or actions. If you hire a contractor or service provider, that relationship is between you and that contractor or service provider.

12. Payments and Subscriptions

House Passports may offer free features, paid plans, subscriptions, premium services, setup services, or other paid features.

Pricing, billing terms, renewal terms, cancellation options, and refund policies will be shown before purchase or inside your account. You are responsible for any charges you approve. If a subscription is offered, it may renew automatically unless canceled according to the terms shown at checkout or in your account.

13. Service Availability

We aim to keep House Passports available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with every device or system. The Service may be updated, changed, suspended, restricted, or discontinued at any time.

14. Data Backup

House Passports is designed to help organize property information, but you are responsible for keeping backup copies of important documents, photos, receipts, warranties, manuals, records, and other files. You should not rely on House Passports as your only copy of important property or financial documents.

15. Intellectual Property

House Passports, including its name, logo, design, features, software, text, graphics, layout, icons, trademarks, service marks, and related intellectual property, belongs to House Passports or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Service without written permission, except as allowed by law.

16. Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, ideas, comments, or recommendations about House Passports, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation. This helps us improve the Service.

17. Content Removal and Account Suspension

We may remove content, restrict access, suspend accounts, or terminate accounts if we believe there is a violation of these Terms, a security risk, a privacy risk, legal risk, system abuse, or misuse of the Service.

We may also remove content that appears unrelated to the purpose of House Passports or that contains unnecessary private, personal, sensitive, or confidential information.

18. Disclaimers

House Passports is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and reliability.

We do not guarantee that maintenance reminders will prevent damage, equipment failure, repair costs, safety issues, code violations, insurance claims, or property loss. You are responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and protecting your property.

We do not guarantee that maintenance reminders, alerts, notifications, reports, schedules, recommendations, or other Service features will be delivered, received, viewed, completed, acted upon, accurate, complete, current, or available at any specific time.

House Passports shall not be liable for damages arising from missed reminders, delayed notifications, inaccurate recommendations, incomplete records, incorrect user-provided information, technical issues, internet outages, software errors, third-party service interruptions, user inaction, or failure to perform maintenance.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, House Passports and its owners, employees, contractors, partners, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages.

This includes damages related to property damage, missed maintenance, repair costs, contractor work, equipment failure, water damage, fire damage, data loss, lost profits, service interruptions, unauthorized account access, user-uploaded content, or use or inability to use the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to House Passports for the Service during the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred dollars ($100), whichever is greater.

20. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless House Passports and its owners, employees, contractors, partners, affiliates, and service providers from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, your uploaded content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of another person’s rights, your property maintenance decisions, your contractor or vendor relationships, or your upload of unnecessary personal, private, confidential, or sensitive information.

21. Termination

You may stop using House Passports at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk, misuse the Service, or if we discontinue the Service.

After termination, some sections of these Terms will continue to apply, including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute-related provisions.

22. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify users through the platform, by email, or by posting an updated version. Continued use of House Passports after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

23. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where House Passports is legally organized, without regard to conflict of law rules.
